Luis Blando is responsible for building McAfee’s mobile products across both its consumer and enterprise product lines. He leads a geographically dispersed team that focuses on McAfee Mobile Security software for consumers and partners, Enterprise Mobility Management software for enterprise users, as well as the research, cloud, and infrastructure back-end systems that complete the McAfee mobile security portfolio.
Blando joined McAfee in 2012 after the close of the Intel acquisition, Prior to McAfee, Blando led Intel’s McAfee Strategic Engagements office, where he oversaw the business interaction between Intel and McAfee and drove collaboration and synergy opportunities. He relocated from Argentina and now resides at McAfee headquarters in Santa Clara, CA.
Blando joined Intel in 2006 with the mandate of starting a Center of Excellence in Software Development in the city of Córdoba, Argentina. Under Blando’s leadership, The Argentina Software Development Center (ASDC) has become one of the most successful ramps on a quality-oriented center, as benchmarked externally and within Intel.
Prior to joining Intel, Blando was a senior executive at Verizon Communications, where he led software technology for their expansion into the video industry. Blando also held various management and technical positions in Fidelity Investments, GTE Laboratories, and Techint Argentina, as well as in smaller companies. He has several publications and patents (granted and pending).
Blando received graduate degrees in Engineering, Computer Science, and Business Administration from MIT, Northeastern University, the University of Nevada, and the Catholic University of Cordoba, Argentina.
