Have you ever walked into the room and your kid suddenly shut the browser window on the computer? Or you go on the computer right after your teen and the History is mysteriously gone even though they were surfing for an hour? Well, you are not alone. According to the McAfee Secret Lives of Teens Survey, more than one-third of teens surveyed do both of those things on a regular basis. Makes you wonder what they are hiding…
Well, I have a solution for you; a solution that works beautifully for my family even though my kids range in age – 7, 14 and 20. McAfee Family Protection is launching an upgrade today, which I have been trying out – and let me tell you, it is GOOD!
I never miss an opportunity to rave about the McAfee Family Protection features that protect my seven year old from seeing adult content or accessing a site that has chat, yet allows my 14 year old to do his science homework, use Facebook without posting T.M.I. such as his cell number and make him manage his online time because I can set time limits.
With the latest upgrade, I can block online gaming and filter YouTube (so we don’t have any more of these episodes again!). I can also filter Internet TV, movies and music! Is your kid addicted to Hulu? Or likes rap but you don’t like explicit lyrics? No problem! It is as easy as a few clicks to give your kids a completely customizable online experience.
This product has given me peace of mind to parents with kids of all ages for a few years now. It helps me know what to talk to them about to keep them safe when it blocks a site that “everyone is on” or by sending me a text when they try to access blocked content. We can then have a talk and decide what to do. It protects them from the content that I don’t want them to see yet gives them enough freedom that they are happy.
You can protect your kids for less than the cost of a new video game. To me, that is a win-win!
Stay safe out there!
