Improving Communications (by Alex Thurber)

On September 12, I hosted a Global Channel Partner Town Hall. In case you missed it, here is the replay.

During the opening of this Town Hall, I mentioned that many of you, our partners from around the world, have told me when it comes to partnering, communications is the number one area we need to improve upon. I believe listening and taking action is the cornerstone of our partnering success. With this in mind, I am committing to hosting a Channel Partner Town Hall on a quarterly basis. During these calls you’ll receive valuable updates on the security market, the McAfee business, including our products, and most importantly how we plan to continue to drive your profitability and our mutual success.

Our next Town Hall is on Thursday, October 27, so mark your calendars!

During the Sept. 12, Town Hall, I reviewed the recently announced SMB Specialization and enhanced Commercial and Enterprise Deal Registration Program as well as our soon to be available SaaS Monthly Specialization and Accredited Channel Engineer (ACE) program. I also provided a preview of our Partner Summit, which will be held Oct. 17 & 18, in Las Vegas. Register today.

Still looking for a reason to attend our Partner Summit? How about 3, which actually turned into 4 once the camera started rolling.

The featured guest of our last Town Hall, was McAfee co-president  Todd Gebhart who I asked to give his perspective on the Intel acquisition and what channel partners mean to him. He reiterated how much he understands and appreciates the importance of partnerships to McAfee and to our mutual customers. “Partners are who we work with to help drive scale and leverage – not only in our model but in your model as well.”

For more of Todd’s outlook and our progress please listen to the replay and write me with any questions or comments. I value your input and look forward to your participation in the next Town Hall!
