Introducing McAfee Mobile Security For Smartphones And Tablets

McAfee’s latest mobile app protects users against device and data loss, mobile viruses or spyware and offers real time web protection against mobile phishing links and risky sites. McAfee Mobile Security runs on Android, BlackBerry, Symbian and Windows Mobile. A free 7-day trial is available for download at all major app stores or http://www.McAfeeMobileSecurity.com.

McAfee Mobile Security combines three of McAfee’s mobile core technologies: a) McAfee’s proven VirusScan Mobile anti-malware engine which has been shipped to over 100 million mobile devices, b) McAfee SiteAdvisor® for Android web protection optimized for mobile devices and c) McAfee WaveSecure which allows users to back up, locate, track, lock and wipe their devices remotely via an online management portal.

While device and data loss remain the top mobile security concern, users today are increasingly concerned about the recent increase of mobile malware incidents. The all-time count of malicious mobile applications is still far behind the daily threat level for traditional platforms. However, the acceleration of mobile user concentration on fewer mobile platforms, the openness of those device or service platforms and the inefficiency of today’s security procedures around vetting mobile apps and services is brewing up a toxic cocktail.
