I should add, these fake Windows update boxes aren't new - they've been around since <a href="http://blog.spywareguide.com/2007/06/rogue_security_applications_be.html" rel="nofollow">last June</a>, and turned up again in <a href="http://sunbeltblog.blogspot.com/2007/10/seen-on-myspace-very-realistic-fake.html" rel="nofollow">October</a>. The only thing that changes each time is the payload. Nice catch. I should add, these fake Windows update boxes aren’t new – they’ve been around since last June, and turned up again in October.
