Last month, McAfee Labs released its 2013 threat predictions report, McAfee’s annual attempt to predict the course of our industry in the coming year. Our researchers expect that with the rise of more advanced mobile devices, smartphones and tablets will become an even larger focus for cybercriminals. In addition, Labs predicts the hacktivist group Anonymous will begin to decline this year due to uncoordinated and unclear operations, a claim that Anonymous itself was quick to refute.
During our January #SecChat, we want to hear from you, the greater security community, to find out what you think will be the most influential industry trends of 2013.
Do you agree with our Labs team that top threats will emerge from mobile attacks, diversified rootkits, and the increased popularity of HTML5? Do you agree with their assessment on the decline of Anonymous? Given your predictions, how would you advise businesses to prepare for what 2013 has in store?
Join us next Thursday, 1/24 at 11am PT by following the #SecChat hashtag and @McAfeeBusiness Twitter feed to share your opinion and discuss how emerging threats will affect information security trends in the coming year.
