Does this ever happen to you? (or your kids?) It is a simple idea and with the everything at your fingertips to search for and download for free online, why not? Well, your cybermom is here to tell you that free isn’t always a good thing.  Check out below what McAfee Labs found related to search results for St. Patrick’s Day-themed wallpaper and screensavers with Site Advisor installed. Cybercriminals are targeting these sites and they could be riddled with malware and other malicious threats.

Did you notice all the red X’s? You can see why I love this product right? 

Site Advisor certainly doesn’t replace having comprehensive security solution (with antivirus, firewall and antispam) installed on your computer, but it is simple enough for even a child to see which sites should be avoided and helps you avoid getting spammed which  regular antivirus would not help you steer clear. Also, be careful when searching for pictures, music and other downloads tied to a holiday.
