I’m deeply honored to be one of only seven in the private sector to receive a FedScoop 50 Industry Leadership Award for 2013. It’s humbling to be placed in the company of public sector leaders such as DoD CIO Teri Takai and Marine Corps CIO Brig. Gen. Kevin Nally, among others.
I have a long list of thanks, but let me start with Goldy Kamali and FedScoop for sponsoring these awards and putting on a great evening of celebration; it was first rate. And of course I owe a debt of gratitude to all of you who voted for me; it means a lot to have earned your confidence.
My thanks don’t stop here, however. A leader ultimately is only as strong as his team, and I’ve got an outstanding team here at McAfee Federal. It’s a privilege to work with each of you and accomplish all that we do. And I have to say I’m extremely proud of what we’re accomplishing. When I think of all the professions I could be in, I feel very good about this one. Where else could I help keep the U.S. government’s IT systems secure with innovative, continually evolving technology? This is what we do at McAfee Federal, and I don’t think it’s hyperbole to say it’s pretty important.
From our work on the Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation program to our collaboration with government and industry on the NIST cyber security framework, we’re making contributions that matter to our government and nation. Receiving this recognition from FedScoop and my peers makes me want to work even harder and achieve even more. Many thanks to all again.
